Let's talk about the redesigned Battlefield PvP mode and its first format, Battle Royale. 

 

Updated Mode

The battlefield is a mode in which you participate in a massive battle with other players in dedicated locations. Winning a battle will earn you points that will move you up the progress bar and unlock a variety of rewards. You are already familiar with this mechanic - the leagues in the Arena PvP mode work similarly.

The fundamental difference between the Battlegrounds and the Arena, in addition to the increased number of participants, is the event format - the mode is available on certain days of the week for limited periods of time. This will allow players from all over the world to take part in battles at a convenient time of the day.

For now, we plan to launch such events in the intervals from Friday evening to Monday morning. At the start of each of the events, a new progress bar with new rewards will be activated.

An important factor is the limited number of attempts to participate in a particular event. There will be four of them, and with each defeat one of them will be spent. After all attempts are lost, you will no longer be able to get into the match search queue.

However, do not worry! The number of attempts can be replenished with diamonds in the mode menu, and for Skypass owners, replenishment is completely free and unlimited!

In addition, there will be events in which Diamonds or Skypass are not required to replenish the number of attempts. The first test run is like that - it will start today at around 13:00 GMT and last 24 hours, until 11.08.2021, 13:00 GMT.

Battle Royale

Victory Condition

Battle Royale is a format of the Battlefield PvP move where your main goal is to stay alive for as long as possible.

Players who can last longer than half of the participants in the competition will receive event progress points and then the attempt will not count against the limit. The longer you hold out, the more points you get and the faster you can earn all the event rewards.

Your survival will be opposed not only by other participants in the battle, but also by game mechanics. For example, the Deathly Mist, which appears some time after the start of the battle and gradually narrows the space available for battle, moving towards the center. Heroes in the area of effect of the fog take huge damage.

Fleeing from the oncoming fog, you will definitely come across fences or blockages on your way, which block part of the passages. Do not be careful around these heaps of garbage - destroy them and hurry to the center of the map, where the end of the fight awaits you.

 

Temporary equipment

Speaking of battles, in this mode, your current equipment does not provide any advantages, because, for the battle, all players receive a temporary set of equipment, items from which duplicate your equipment set. For example: if you are wearing a heavy helmet and light gloves, then you will receive exactly the same kind of items from the temporary set. If a character is missing any of the items of equipment, then when moving to the Battlefield, it will be determined randomly.

Temporary equipment is divided into three groups: weapons, armor and accessories. Each group has its own indicator of strength, measured in points - their value is displayed on the main screen next to the minimap.

During the battle, you can increase the number of points for each group of temporary equipment with the help of special items - Amplifiers. This will improve the quality of the equipment and open up access to additional characteristics that will be the same as the original equipment of the character.

You can find amplifiers in chests scattered throughout the location. Amplifiers have different types of quality - the higher it is, the more points the equipment will receive when activated.

The total number of points of temporary equipment is displayed above the characters and allows you to assess the strength of a particular player and avoid a knowingly lost battle.

 

Additional mechanics

The event can have one of the additional mechanics that will periodically trigger during the fighting on the battlefield. Here is the list of those:

• An area appears at a random point on the battlefield, which restores health to all players in it every second.
• An area appears at a random point on the battlefield, which every second deals damage to all players in it.
• A strong monster appears at a random point on the battlefield - by killing it, you can get Amplifiers.
• At a random point on the battlefield, a bonus appears that gives a random positive effect.

The chosen mechanic is retained for all matches during one event, and will also be known in advance and indicated in the match search menu. The presence of an additional mechanics is optional, so events can be without any.

Right now, "Battle Royale" will be a format in which players fight for themselves. However, it is possible that in the future there will be a team format of the battle.

And of course, there will be more Battlefield formats in the future.
