The Knowers' experiments in manipulating Skylor's energy eventually resulted in the creation of special runes. Being applied to an object, they gave it the ability to conduct a huge flow of energy through itself, greatly expanding the capabilities of the owner.

However, there were those for whom this was not enough. Those who did not need a conductor of Knowledge, but were ready to become one themselves. Such madmen inflicted runes on their own bodies in order to unleash monstrous spells on their enemies.

Kronun is rightfully considered the birthplace of rune magicians, which is not surprising, because tattoos are an integral part of the Nox culture. The authorities of the city only spur the growth of the newly appeared trend, seeing in it an excellent opportunity for the growth of political influence.
