However, no matter how great the talent, there are not enough university grants and sponsors for everyone. Those who are not lucky enough to receive funding, risk remaining as mere workers. But goblins would not be goblins if they simply gave up.

It's not uncommon to find self-taught hobos in junkyards, hunting for the right parts for their next project. Though very often their creations look awkward, much more love was put into them than into factory automata.
