We talk about the New Year's event and changes in version 1.23:

Winter Celebrations

What kind of World Creation holiday would it be without cheerful celebrations and hot battles to keep warm in the cold! Let's figure out how we will celebrate the holiday in Skylore:

 

Holiday Location

In both cities, in the central squares, barkers will appear with invitations to the Winter Resort — here, among the breathtaking snowy landscape, incessant snowfall and colorful decorations, every adventurer will be able to relax and plunge into the atmosphere of fun and celebration in a new huge location with its own quest line and dynamic areas.

But New Year's entertainment is not only about admiring garlands, eating sweets and drinking punch. Brave warriors, not accustomed to sitting with their arms folded, can once again gather a squad for the battle with Coal. This time, valuable rewards can be obtained from it once every 24 hours, but this is not all, because at first part of the location will be inaccessible, hidden by an impenetrable snowstorm. As time passes and as you progress through the quest line, you will reveal the secrets of constant snowstorms and missing people, and will be able to explore the entire territory of the resort.

And you can relax between battles by fishing — having received Bait from Arena chests or Holiday Boxes, you can go to a fishing hole and use it. Don’t move away from the cast fishing rod — the fish can bite at any moment, and you need to pull it out quickly so as not to miss it. Caught fish can be turned in for quests or sold to the cook in exchange for chests.

Attractions

For enjoyers of more active recreation, Gorgors have prepared attractions - special Treaties with Gorgors, which can be completed either alone or with a group. Please note that when going through the Attraction in a group, each person entering spends their own ticket, but due to teamwork, going through the Attraction in a group is more profitable than doing it alone. You can get tickets for completing daily tasks and dynamic areas, as well as surprise gifts, and you can get one of three types of attractions:

Snowballs

In this simple game you will have to demonstrate your speed and accuracy - collect snow from snowdrifts,load it into the cannons and shoot at moving targets, but don’t yawn and dodge the snowballs yourself. The more targets you shoot in the allotted time, the more rewards you will receive!

Ginger Cookies

Can the World Creation holiday be complete without its most popular sweet? Of course not, so grab those ingredients, and get to work! You need to mix flour and eggs in a mixer, roll them out with a rolling pin, then put them in the oven and, most importantly, don’t forget to take out the cookies in time before they burn! But it's not enough to know the recipe, you have to develop a strategy to work as a team to bake as many cookies as possible in a limited time.

 

Christmas Maze

Gorgors never give anything away for nothing — any adventurer whose eyes run wild at the many piles of gold in the labyrinth will quickly find themselves frozen by the evil snowmen. Be quick and attentive, collect gold and don't let yourself to be driven into a corner. And if there are too many snowmen, a special power-up will help you destroy them yourself!

 

Rewards

What would the holiday atmosphere be like without dresses and gifts? This year, holiday consumables and Snowflakes currency are returning. But besides this, there are completely new attributes of the holiday:

Scarlet Wanderer Gift

Scarlet Wanderer Gifts can be acquired for Snowflakes, and inside you will find:

- Gold, Shards of Souls and Shadows
- Armor and Arsenal of the Cold Knight
- Cookie Costume
- Simple armor alloy
- Diamonds
- Holiday consumables

Ice-Clad Cache

Ice-Clad Caches can be exchanged with the cook for fish caught in the ice holes, and in them adventurers can receive:
- Knowledge
- Messenger of Joy Outfit
- Gold and Knowledge Boosters
- Simple accessory alloy
- World Creation Catalogs
- Holiday consumables

Holiday Box

Holiday boxes will be sold in the store for the duration of the event, and contain:
- Snowflakes
- Bait
- Attraction tickets
- Holiday consumables

“Winter Venture” Calendar

A special holiday reward calendar is also available with many items to celebrate the World Creation - attraction tickets, bait, consumables, gifts and various currencies.

Separating Chests

The Arena and Dungeon chest storage has been redesigned - now for these modes, Chests are stored and opened separately, with 4 chests in each. Skypass holders can similarly queue chests for opening separately for both modes.

 

Class Changes

Shadow

- The mechanics of the passive skill Hidden Threat have been reworked - now it works at full health and constantly applies the effects of Fury and Powerx2.
- The passive skill Poisonous Trail now additionally increases physical damage to the target by 1% for each stack of Poison on it.
- The Shadow Step ability can no longer be dodged.
- The Poisonous Fog glyph for the Twilight Blade ability now applies Poison to all enemies within 4 meters of the Shadow, rather than the target.

Hunter

- The Storm's Might glyph for the Dragon Spirit ability has returned to its previous effect - increases the damage of the ability by 20%, instead of attracting enemies.
- Dragon Aspect knockback can no longer be cast on the same target multiple times in a row by two Hunters.
- The Leap ability now allows you to select a jump point and deals damage to all targets in the original area. At the same time, the hunter's spirits apply their abilities to the current target of the basic attack.
- The priority of the Falconry effect in the effects line has been raised to make it easier to track.

Alchemist

- Passive skill Arsonist now increases what the target receives magical damage by 15%, instead of increasing any damage by 10%.

Item Information

We have updated and expanded the description of items, their qualities, characteristics and mechanics. Now you can study your character’s equipment in detail and plan his further upgrades. Help opens by clicking the question mark in the top left corner of the item card, but after the update there will be more information, including:
- Description of marks on items - equipped, stronger than equipped, added to favorites, temporary items, unstudied items
- Types of equipment - helmets, armor, shoes, weapons, etc.
- Equipment classes - heavy, medium or light armor and guard, frenetic or poise accessories
- Description of basic and additional characteristics
- Item Quality - Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic
- Modifications of items in the Forge
- Item Durability and Repair

Triumvirate

Based on the collected feedback from players and statistics from battles with the world boss Triumvirate, changes have been made to the mechanics of the location and boss:
- The portals have been enlarged and are additionally highlighted by pillars of light.
- After teleportation to a location and resurrection on the spot, the player receives immunity from the “line of monsters” for several minutes.
- Gaps in the “line” are now placed less randomly and cannot be located on the edges.
- Orbs of light now appear near portals.
- The judge speaks phrases describing the abilities being used.

 

Other changes

- Now in the guild store you can buy goods with accumulated currency even if you are not currently in the guild.
- When selecting matches in the Arena, teams are now more balanced. We will continue to work to improve matchmaking.
- Improvements have been made to the animation of item hardening.
- New types of activities have been added - for earning personal reputation, spending currencies, shopping in the guild store and killing bosses in the Catacombs. Guild-related activities are not displayed if you are not a member of a guild.
- Simplified and improved description of characteristics in the character window. For rating characteristics, the percentage value for opponents of your level will be displayed in the description, and not in the general list - only numerical values will be there.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes raid selection was not displayed after leaving the previous one.
- Guilds can no longer launch multiple raids at the same time.
- Players without guilds will be able to open the guild ratings window.
- Fixed a bug with missing messages in private chats.

the queue for dg chests is bugged. it counts down to zero second on chest then gets stuck. reentering the game resets the timer to 1+minute

Congratulations on the event, we really enjoyed it.
They could reduce the brightness of the rage effect that appears on the character's body... you can no longer see the doll.
It would be nice if this chest mechanic continued after the event

the ice clad cache has mercy mechanic at 60 chests instead of 50|75 for dream harvest and it gives you a costume OR a hairstyle. Why cant we have it by the rules of dream harvest with costumes at 50 and hairstyle at 75 but guaranteed and separated, so that getting 75 means that you will have a costume and a hairstyle guaranteed?

and getting 60 of those will be tricky because fishing minigame is rather punishing. messing up a single attempt basically means a loss of one hour because 3h white arena chest contains 3 baits. so 1 bait per hour in the worst case scenario. and we only have 17 days on that location. This is very short period of time to get enough fish.

please make additional farm-able sources for bait. something that can be dropped from mobs. perhaps those snowman or whatever. even if the chance is low it is still better than nothing.

the infernal reindeer is very strong. much stronger than the nightmare boss. that aoe attack inflicts heavy damage and fear. it is simply broken. It is unfair. Even in heavy armour it is super hard to survive it and dodging it is tricky. Maybe it should be nerfed.
