What have been changed in Skylore for the third alpha test?

Since the last server launch, Arinar has changed noticeably. Not only new adventures on lands that are still uncharted will await you but also completely new mechanics, as well as improvements that you will definitely appreciate.

Heroes can attain up to level 20

For successful expeditions to new lands you definitely need to become stronger and master new talents. And you will have such opportunity!

Maximum character’s level is increased to 20. There are also new opportunities for development: more than 40 talents with characteristics, additional chaos shards and one active and one passive abilities for each class.

In addition, we reworked some of the characteristics, mechanics and ability glyphs that you could already see in a previous stage. Now a class you choose can be revealed in a completely new way.

Chaos shards’ reset

By the way, we have finished work on the long-awaited and desired by all feature — chaos shards’ reset!

By pressing one button you will return all the shards invested in abilities’ improvement. The only thing required is gold. The price depends only on the level of your character: the higher the level, the higher the cost. And note, it won't increase with the repeated return of the used shards.

Now you can safely experiment with glyphs and try different options for pumping abilities to make your character as comfortable as possible for your playstyle.

Activity Center

We made sure that you will always have something to do! Activity Center is a new mechanic designed to diversify your gameplay.

Starting at level 4, you will receive small quests, for example: kill 20 monsters, win the battle at Arena, get 3 items with the “unusual” quality or something else. By completing them your character will be awarded with Activity Points, which will fill the Progress Bar gradually.

The scale, in turn, is divided into several stages. By achieving each of the scale’s level, you will get an access to valuable rewards such as currency, equipment and other items.

An important element of the Activity Center is seasonality — a certain period of time during which your activity progress is updated and rewards are changed. Thus, in each season you can get something unique that cannot be obtained in any other way.

New reward system

We changed the reward system in the modes: we removed the currency and stores of Arena, Battlefield and Dungeons regimes. For victory you will receive chests with the following contents:

 

  • Arena Chest — with gold and PvP gear.
  • Dungeon Chest — with knowledge and equipment for PvE.
  • Battlefield chest — with piles of trophy equipment and alchemical stones for items’ leveling up and combining as well as PvP consumables.

An important point: for winning in the modes you can get a "Big Chest", in which you will find not only more currency, but also the opportunity to get equipment with better quality than in a regular chest.

Getting a "Big Chest" won't require any specific actions from you, everything is extremely simple: the more you win, the greater the chance!

You can also get chests for completing storyline quests, achieving a certain character level, as a reward for completing tasks from the Activity Center or just buy it in a store. Such chests open instantly, directly from the inventory, and in some of them, in addition to the guaranteed contents, you can also find additional rewards that will be indicated in the chest description.

Dungeons’ improvements

We worked on the mode seriously to make it interesting and accessible for characters of all levels.

Now in Dungeons the level of all characters will be changed to the minimum among the members of a group. If you’re entering a dungeon without a group, the game will try to match heroes with a minimum level scatter — no more than 3.

The complexity of a dungeon and the rewards for completing it will depend on a minimum level of a character in a group: the higher it is, the more difficult your trip will be, and the more valuable rewards you will receive.

The principle of automatic location generation has also changed. Previously, you could find mini-bosses if you went in the wrong direction. Now a fight with one of them is required because the mini-boss will always be located in front of the room with a main villain.

Defeating mini-bosses as before will allow your group to gain powerful buffs, but now you get them immediately after a battle with an enemy.

Maximum durability of items is no longer decreased

At the previous testing stage you could fix the broken equipment for gold. However, in this case the maximum strength of an item was inevitably decreased.

We decided to abandon this system. From now on the maximum durability of items cannot be reduced, even during enchanting.

Correction of critical errors in quests

During past test we received several alarms and requests for help from players whose characters were stuck in a quest locations without the ability to exit or go back.

Fortunately, the problem has been resolved: we’ve carefully worked through all the tasks in the game for such incidents! However, we ask you to be careful and be sure to report on all the oddities that arise.

Improving behavior of summons

During past test not only players could get lost and stuck, but also summons, namely animal spirits of Hunter and illusions of Wizard.

We’ve fixed it. Now summons will be more responsive to the player’s actions, and illusions will cease to be lost in the location textures and will be teleported to the character if a hero runs away for a long distance.
