We're talking about Halloween celebrations in Skylore this year, as well as other new features and changes in update 1.21.5.

After completing the quest chain, you can continue to deal with holiday chores every day, in the format of repeatable tasks.

 

World Boss

In the World of Dreams there is a world boss - the Dream Reaper, the embodiment of the fears of both the Legion and the Guardians. You will get acquainted with his story in a special quest line, and once a day you will be able to fight him and receive valuable rewards for it!

After completing the story quest, you will be able to track time until the next opportunity to get loot from the boss in the quest log.

 

Gorgor Contracts

As part of this year's event, we're once again giving you the opportunity to fight Gorgors' enemies as part of a group. Just get the event contract and go fill your pockets with gold and knowledge in the company of true friends!

In addition to their sworn enemies, the Gorgorushs are no strangers to the spirit of fun and ingenuity, so this year they invite all the heroes to take part in the festive challenges they have invented - Attractions.

By using a special item - “Attraction Ticket”, you can get to the selected location and play one of five fun mini-games:

  • Market Paint
  • Ghostly Garden
  • Beware of the spirits!
  • Mysterious Floor
  • Grab and Run

Each has its own characteristics, and you can go to each either alone or in the company of a group of up to 4 people. We highly recommend the second option, as it will help you get more rewards and make the playthrough much more fun and exciting!

 

Prophetic Dream Casket

For participating in Pumpkin Moon activities you will receive a special currency — Holiday pumpkins, for which you can purchase the Prophetic Dream Casket. Inside you will find: gold, diamonds, soul and shadow fragments, and new unique items for customizing your equipment - the Dream Reaper's Robe and Arsenal.

You can get acquainted with the history of the outfit and appearance on our forum.

In addition, inside the casket you can find the Dream Totem, a special consumable that attracts aggressive creatures from the Dream World. A great way to get more holiday items and currency, or the opportunity to set dangerous monsters on players!

Pumpkin Farm

On top of that, you'll have your own garden at the fairgrounds where you can literally grow valuable rewards for yourself!

At the personal location, you will have access to 5 planting spots, in which, after receiving special seeds, you can plant holiday pumpkins. Planted pumpkins will need to be looked after on time - do not forget to water and, if possible, use special fertilizers to accelerate growth. Be careful, because without enough moisture your pumpkins will wither and soon die.

By regularly following simple guidelines, you can grow a Dream Harvest, inside which you will find knowledge, holiday minions, boosters that will increase the gold you receive from knowledge from chests for successfully completing modes, as well as a catalog with themed hairstyles and another costume - Nightmare Catcher Robe.

You will be taught the basics of gardening in a training quest, and you will receive seeds and fertilizers after completing dungeons during the event, as well as as a trophy from the Dream Reaper.

 

Hardened Items

We have made changes to the mechanics of hardened items, making it less random. You can now temper selected pieces of equipment to increase their combat stats.

Key Features:

  • Only epic quality items can be tempered
  • The procedure is performed in the new Forge menu tab
  • Hardening occurs gradually: first to step 1, and then from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3.
  • Hardening will require knowledge, alchemical stones and a new resource - alloys, which can be of different types and qualities, depending on the type of equipment being hardened and the level of hardening.

As part of the event, you will be able to receive alloys for hardening armor up to the first stage from the event chest for Holiday pumpkins, and we’ll tell you separately where resources for the mechanic can be obtained.

The previously received hardened items remain with you, and if it is the equipment of Destroyers, Collectors or Seers, then you will be able to change their degree of hardening, after developing them to epic quality.

In the future, we will likely launch a limited-time promotion that will allow owners of previously acquired tempered items to exchange them for tempering resources.

Dynamic Area Quests

To ensure that you have enough time to actively participate in all the festive events, we have decided to change the update time for tasks in Dynamic Areas to 24 hours. At the same time, we have doubled the rewards for completing them.

We are going to leave this change in the game even after the end of the game event, because there are many interesting adventures ahead for which brave heroes will need time free from daily chores!

  • Now Aegis charges reduce not only physical damage, but all incoming damage by 2%.
  • Rush of Power glyph has been reworked — Aegis Charges now increase outgoing damage by 3% per charge, instead of reducing damage.
  • Vigilance glyph has been redesigned — using the ability with 5 active charges of Aegis will reduce its cooldown by 10 seconds.

  • Overwhelming Power glyph has been strengthened — the damage increase bonus against monsters has been increased from 30% to 40%.

  • Now Vulnerability is also applied when dealing damage with abilities, not just auto attacks.

  • Vigor Charge glyph has been weakened — instead of 5 seconds, Haste is applied for 3 seconds.

  • Sign of Life and Death glyph has been strengthened — now it increases damage by 20% instead of 10%.

  • Duplication glyph has been changed — now it always places a Barrier on the alchemist, but with a duration of 3 seconds instead of 4. The effects of other glyphs do not work on this barrier.

  • Now additionally increases the chance to dodge by 5% and triggers when dodging any attacks, not just basic attacks.

  • All-Consuming Darkness glyph has been strengthened — now increases the radius of effect to 4 meters instead of 3.
  • Volatile Venom glyph has been strengthened — now deals additional damage for each Poison effect on the target.
  • Wandering Shadow glyph has been changed — now its activation does not require being in Invisibility.

  • Dark Forces glyph has been changed — now extends the duration of the ability by 3 seconds.

  • The additional damage from the Shadow Particle effect now triggers from all attacks, not just basic attacks.
  • Dark Bonds glyph has been changed — it now triggers from any targeted attacks (that is, basic attacks and non-area abilities), not just basic attacks, but reduces the cooldown of abilities by 0.3 seconds, instead of 0.5.

 

Other changes and fixes

  • Fixed an error in the operation of the “Power Infusion” consumable during the battle format in the “Tower Defense” arena.
  • The “Tower Defense” arena battle format has been returned to rotation
  • Fixed a number of errors that resulted in incorrect display of the character's avatar in the inspection menu, as well as those related to the disappearance of received medals from the achievement block.
  • The amount of gold received when opening a collected chest from world bosses has been increased. Gold can only be obtained if you have the costume and weapon skin of this boss.
  • Fixed a bug where killing the boss did not complete the guild quest to find anomalies.
  • Fixed freezes when opening the activity center window.

URGENT QUESTIONS!!!

Is there a mercy mechanic for 200 chests of the "Prophetic Dream Casket" type and for  "Dream Harvest" type?

How often do we have to water the pumpkins on the garden?

the Dream Totem, a special consumable that attracts aggressive creatures from the Dream World. A great way to get more holiday items and currency, or the opportunity to set dangerous monsters on players! - ok so that thing summons unfinished nightmares. There are mobs with the same name in new location and other nightmares too. Do THOSE drop any event currency at all or is it pointless to farm inside of the new location and we can only get event currency dropped as loot from monsters if they are summoned by the totem?

also, why did you bring back group contracts after the horrible experience from the previous event? Didn't you have enough of helpers' spam in chat? Didn't we have like...the biggest amount of frauds and scammers to leech of the naive players to get their contracts without offering anything in return? It was the WORST part of killing jokes and you brought that back!

I like it, but it should be noted that the event is to celebrate a date and the probability of winning the skin and weapon skin is really difficult, so I wouldn't be celebrating but rather getting very upset and frustrated for not getting anything more than gold and knowledge

Add more skill slot it will make the game more fun in both pvp and pve. And add a bit more damage to the skill of Alchemist and Guardian. Imagine all class have a cc skills but the damage for each class is not balance, better dont put or reduce the time of cc skills in the dps class, the game is not balance because of that, imagine dps class with a high damage output + CC skills with more long time period than support class and also with many utility skill. That is my opinion to this game.

There is always a description of the chances and guarantees of getting the contents from the chests - click on the special button when examining the chest and you will find all the information.

We do not consider this content to be a distressing experience. Going to a Contrat forces people to communicate, look for friends and unite. The rest of the things are game details. Just play with friends you are confident in if you are afraid to trust other players.

If someone annoys you in world chat, use the ignore function.

Just play, have fun and enjoy. I am sure you will have time to get all the desired rewards, because the event has just begun, and we will definitely introduce several new activities to earn event currency ;)

After you turned off the server and restarted it, all dream harvest sprouts disappeared.
I had one green pumpkin (about to get ripe), three bushes (about to turn into green pumpkins) and one sprout (about to turn into a bush)
that's (46+) + 3*(23+) + 1*(0+) horse worth of plant growing time.
At the very least I lost 46+3*23 = 115 hours of gardening time and I am certain that my dream harvest had a few more hours per plant (hence the + sign on each term).
assuming that they were 1 hour away from switching to next state the numbers are
(46+22) + 3*(23+22)+1*(0+22)=68+3*45 + 22 = 68+135 + 22 = 225 hours of gardening time.
 
so I lost somewhere in between 115 and 225 hours
 
ten growth potions compensate for 1 period of 23 hours. so I need at least fifty to recover to bare minimum. or 98 to recover to possible maximum loss.
 

This was not my fault. All players lost their harvest. please compensate it accordingly. The easiest way is to simply send us a certain amount of growth potions via in-game mail, but you can also restore the plants.

Three weeks later...the event is over.

no new activities to earn event currency other than the ones we had on day one of the event (world boss, group contracts, tickets, totems). No event currency was given even as a reward from battleground although there were a few dream caskets. No monster dropped event currency additionally, no creative section stuff to reward a select few, NOTHING!

We did every contract and ticket as 4x4 exchange group with all buffs we could have. And it gave us ... about 90 dream caskets in total (accounting for the ones from battleground). The mercy mechanic states a reward from 200 chests. We weren't even half way through.

we had 20 contracts (one per day) and 3+19*2=41 tickets (three on the first day and two on each next day)

with 4x4 exchange you quadruple these numbers, so 80 contracts and 164 tickets.

one contract takes 5 minutes, one ticket takes 3 minutes.

80*5+164*3=400+492=892 minutes or almost 15 hours of actual grind. Not fifteen hours of casual game-play, but fifteen hours of most intense and stressful kind of game-play. These fifteen hours were split into three five hours sections one per week to fully utilize guild buffs. If we tried to do one 4x4 contract and two 4x4 tickets every day, we would get LESS currency because we wouldn't have guild buff active every day. Hoarding more than seven contracts and 14 tickets was pretty much impossible because inventory space is limited. And with all our BEST effort, with a well established team of four players who all followed this same plan to the letter we got 90 dream caskets.

The mercy mechanic kicks in at 200 dream caskets. If we were like 10 or 20 caskets below 200, we could at least argue that it WAS POSSIBLE. But it wasn't. Not without scamming dozens of new players as "helpers" in chat.

To get two hundred dream caskets we would have to do MORE than twice of what we did. For every 4x4 exchange contract that I did as a member of a group of four, I would need to get 4 ...or more likely five or even six (to account for the weakness of those players) beginners to share with me their contracts AND tickets voluntarily, without asking me to contribute one of my own for any 4x4 exchange/sharing. For EVERY contract and EVERY ticket. And every such person, who contributed their contracts and tickets to US, would immediately loose their ability to use those contracts and tickets in their 4x4 groups. So, to carry ONE group of four players to 200 dream caskets, five or six more players would have to be denied the chance to even approach those 90 dream caskets that we gathered.

Granted, our group was not super strong, and some other groups could probably get 100-110 dream caskets from their 4x4 exchange. But to obtain 200 chests without tricking beginners into sharing their contracts was IMPOSSIBLE.

In the best case scenario LESS than HALF of all players could obtain guaranteed reward from 200 chests. Of course some players would get their skins without mercy mechanic, but most of us wouldn't. The chances are astronomically low.

And it was not always like this. During the new year and love lunacy it was possible to get 200+ lootboxes of corresponding event without hurting other players. You were gradually decreasing the ability of free-to-play players to keep up with paying players, even though free-to-play players could only obtain one piece of costume/weapon skin like this where two or more were available for paying players.

So to sum it up - with current approach to event it would either be

A) less than half of all players with 200 chests

B) pretty much all players (excluding the few paying players of course) with less than a half of the required amount of chests necessary to get mercy mechanic.

Either way, you have better chances to win just by tossing a coin and guessing the outcome. Three weeks of active participation in every event activity (without tricking beginners of their contracts and tickets) gives you less than fifty per cent chance for a costume. This is not even a zero-sum game, because the gain of the scammer, who tricks another player into sharing a contract is +1 contract, while the person who is getting scammed loses a contract that would allow him or her to do a 4x4 exchange, so you are losing -3 contracts.

We do not consider this content to be a distressing experience - because you own the game. You don't have a player's perspective.

Going to a Contrat forces people to communicate lie, deceive, scam, look for friends victims among noobs and unite  betray (and kick from party) players who used their contracts|tickets first in a 4x4 "exchange" party. The rest of the things are game details spending hours spamming the "high ranking player will help you maximize your reward with contract/ticket" in chat. Just play with friends you are confident in (and you will barely scratch the 100 lootbox mark when the mercy mechanic was set to 200) if you are afraid naive to trust other players.

You see, the problem isn't that they are afraid to trust. They DO TRUST. They trust because they don't expect that a game without trade can have some sort of scam. Many beginners agree to that "help" without even realizing that they are getting scammed. Many will believe that they had a pretty good deal from those "helpers" but that opinion is formed by the lack of information about the alternative.

You have created the system, that promotes and REWARDS dishonest behaviour. During this event and during the killing jokes event hundreds of scams occurred every day in your virtual world. The sickest, most disgusting part of this is that they were all done under the guise of altruism. All those scammers posed as "helpers" with a fake smile on face, they promised to maximize reward. And they never did. Because getting 12 pumpkins instead of 10 from one contract is not an increase in reward the moment you consider that you have lost three more contracts where you could get 10 pumpkins on each. instead of 40 pumpkin coins in format of 10+10+10+10 you received 12 pumpkin coins in the format of 12+0+0+0 because you do not have those three contracts from the 4x4 exchange. Even if you did them with a very weak party. even if you get 5 pumpkin coins per contract, you would still get 5+5+5+5=20 > 12... Ask yourself, how many of those helpers altruistically help you to do dungeon runs during the pirate-themed event? None. Because they didn't care about you, they only cared about their personal counter of dungeon runs and to max it out they would run dungeons repeatedly with the same strong party. They could run it without you and they did, They only begin to help you when you are holding the keys to the area that they need to complete.

And you don't consider this system a problem. This isn't a bug, its a feature. not after the killing jokes. The first time it could be a mistake. But when you intentionally repeat it...you wanted that outcome. The question is why?

We do not consider this content to be a distressing experience. You turned a fair amount of normal, morally neutral characters into greed-driven scammers. Instead of making the correct decision and calling you out on this problem, instead of ...i don't know... protesting by destroying/selling randomly obtained costume, or at least ignoring the event in the form of protest, they were all corrupted. They all decided to just roll with this scam, to become part of it, to lie to beginners, not even for something with real value but for the bunch of pixels on the screen. And then they will be wearing costumes obtained THANKS to the scam without feeling ashamed of it. Not distressing at all.

you could make it difficult to reach the 200 chest value by so many means, but yo decided that the source of difficulty should be one's moral compass...inverted. People who don't lie to noobs are LESS likely to be rewarded in the event. You are CONDITIONING people who play your game to be bad/evil/immoral by your design choices and you do so AFTER you were informed about your mistakes the first time. Not finding this distressing IS distressing. It SHOULD be distressing. You SHOULD feel bad. This is not pessimism or alarmism, because I am not warning you about the problem that COULD occur in the future while "everything is fine and there is no reason to assume that bad things will happen", I am pointing at the problem post-factum. Multiple instances of the scam have ALREADY been observed and recorded. This was happening during killing jokes and this was happening during pumpkin moon 2023.

Skylore was supposed to be a nice little cosy fantasy world. A semi-serious soft fantasy, focused around knowers. Instead we see a lot of "knowers" who get deceived because of incomplete information on the subject, and some "knowers" who do the deceiving. Yet there is a severe lack of "knowers" with good intentions who would try prevent this scam from happening. For all the "high ranking player will help you maximize your reward with contract/ticket" in chat I haven't seen a single message to UNcover this scam. Are all good "knowers" too afraid to warn their younger colleagues about the scam, or are there no good knowers left? There is still time to fix this. You can still make things right. Kill this game mechanic for good or at least don't make it decisive for a reward in event. If you want to have group contracts, you can have group contracts. You can have them for quests, for seasonal activities, for guild assignments, even as random loot from monsters. But they must never have huge rewards. Do not override moral compass of your players by tempting them with epic rewards! If you really cared about players getting along and playing together, you wouldn't force them. You would create the conditions where they cooperate willingly. The simplest approach is to make cooperation faster. Instead of designing a group contract in a way where a team of four will get more rewards, you could design it around "charges" where once contract has four charges that can be used by four players in a single run or by one player in four runs (or by two players in two runs). And a solo player could get the same reward from the total of four solo runs as four players from one team run. Another obvious glaring flaw is how the contracts favour damage dealers over healers and tanks. if reward is determined by the amount of enemies killed, it will discriminate against low dmg classes. The tickets were a step in the right direction. Making them stack-able was also a good idea, but it doesn't negate the problem at the root which is "fake helpers".

Imagine all class have a cc skills but the damage for each class is not balance, better dont put or reduce the time of cc skills in the dps class, the game is not balance because of that, imagine dps class with a high damage output + CC skills with more long time period than support class and also with many utility skill. That is my opinion to this game.
